The Liberals Attack Their Own While Helping Conservatives.

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is seen by some to be a rising star in the Democratic Party. She is gathering criticism by both sides; however, more critique is coming from her side than the right. Ocasio-Cortez might be damaging her party more than helping it, and there seems to be a bit of a panic. As the left usually do they attacked her critics with predictable class warfare calling her critics sexist. For the sake of the country and downfall of the left, keep up the excellent work.

Laura McGann is a writer for the left-wing publication Vox who came to the “defense” of Ocasio-Cortez because of alleged gender discrimination. Matt Lewis, another writer for the left-leaning Daily Beast, wrote an article trying to offer advice to the self-described Democratic Socialist that grew up in Westchester, New York where the median income is $116,741 a year.

Lewis said, “You have the potential for a very bright future. Don’t blow it. Take your time. Avoid overexposure. Bone up on the issues. Do the hard work. There’s no reason to be in a rush.” So that is sexist, according to McGann.

The left is absorbed with identity politics. Democratic policies do not work against conservative ideas and never will, so the left must use some attack based in looks or gender to get their way. McGann used their tactic against someone else on their side in an attempt to discredit Lewis.

Since her stunning win in the Democratic primary race in June, Ocasio-Cortez has been interviewed many times and always says something that makes her look uninformed, or clueless. Her inability to articulate a point in a way that benefits the left is starting to concern some liberals, and that is why Lewis said something.

Democrats looking at the big picture are a problem for Republicans. People like McGann and Ocasio-Cortez herself are only helping the right. The more she gets on television to do interviews, the better the right will look because she only knows talking points, not critical thinking. She is young and knows very little about how the world operates, only what her college professor told her to say and think. Case in point, she believes that all should have Medicare, but could not answer how to pay for it when asked in an interview. Moreover, she is a college economics with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics.

Infusing claims of gender bigotry will not guarantee a political victory. Just ask Hillary…twice. She went on to say that more women should get elected into Congress but failed to explain why other than bias is holding them back. However, McGann fails to acknowledge that running for a seat is a choice, and more men chose to take the challenge. It is a numbers game.

McGann seems to think that if the voting bloc realizes that Ocasio-Cortez is a flawed candidate she will lose in November. More than likely, she will be elected because a Republican would not win in the Bronx due to being a historically heavily Democratic district.

Ocasio-Cortez is only a rising star because the news allows her to rise. Ocasio-Cortez is being propped up by the media with interviews and copious amounts of news coverage. Once she becomes a political liability, media attention will cease, and she will vanish from televisions but that will not be sexist according to critics.

Fewer things are more satisfying than seeing the left attack each other when one ally is attempting to help the other and using their shared tactics to do so.
