Is Your Child Learning from Bill Ayers?

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.

Most conservatives would be stunned if they found out their son or daughter is forced to learn from a book that is written by a former communist activist revolutionary. They would be even more appalled if they found out their child was learning from a book that is written by a former domestic terrorist.

Yes, in classrooms all across the country and specifically in college lecture halls, books written by Bill Ayers are promoted and advanced throughout the curriculum. Students are forced to buy, read, and internalize education viewpoints written by an individual that openly advocates and promotes Anti-American sentiments and viewpoints.

The specific book that is required is "To Teach. The journey, in comics." Throughout the book it argues that "white privilege" is a bias that is prevalent throughout our schools and in our society. The book openly promotes increased social justice programs and big government initiatives.

This is nothing new for higher education. Ayers, a former college professor from the University of Illinois Chicago, has been a fixture in higher academic learning for decades. Despite his books and teachings being spread to more and more colleges each year, it remains that most conservative parents and families remain unaware that their children are being subjected to blatant and outward indoctrination.

More and more we are seeing students required to study from books that rewrite our founding principles and engage in revisionist history. Perhaps the most recent and egregious example is an AP US History review book that blatantly rewrites a part of the US Constitution.

The Second Amendment of the Constitution is: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

The AP review book states the Second Amendment is: "People have the right to keep and bear arms in a state militia."

See link to actual textbook here.

Do you see the difference? The authors of the book clearly removed the part about necessary for the security of the state and also infer that private citizens should not be allowed to own firearms. The book also removes the phrase "shall not be infringed".

Everyday another student is getting systematically brainwashed and indoctrinated by subtle yet intentional biases in the books they are learning from. American history and the history of our founding is being erased by an oligarchic group of people who control our textbooks and educational materials.

Our children's future and the future of this country depend on our ability to pass upon the principles that made us the most prosperous and free nation in the world. More and more students are falling upon big government beliefs as the liberty and freedom message is drowned our by the masses in academia.

You need to check what textbooks your children are using and most importantly do not allow your local schools or colleges to use text books that promote left leaning progressive agendas.
