In gangs, the people willing to do the killing or intimidation get paid more than the people slinging drugs on the street corners. Why? Because people with the moral vacuum that allows them to murder or just beat the hell out of innocent people because someone told them to is rare, whereas anyone can be taught to stand on a corner and sell drugs. Market forces at work.
There’s also the fact that the muscle is needed to secure and maintain the territory needed to make money, and you’re more likely to at least get shot at, possibly killed, which means you want more money to do it. Again, market forces.
These concepts of paying off your goons makes good sense if you’re the ones in charge, too. If you’re cheap with your muscle there’s a chance they’ll turn on you, and you don’t want that.
Democrats know this, and live by it. But they don’t want to pay their goons themselves, no direct financial ties allows for plausible deniability when the progressive goon squad goes into a neighborhood, burns it down and beats the hell out of people.
That’s what is happening with the enforcement wing of the progressive left.
They’ve been called Brownshirts, they’ve been called KGB, they’ve been called the Ku Klux Klan, they’ve been called lots of things, but they’ve all been enforcement wings of the Democrat Party. Now they’re called BLM/ANTIFA. Ultimately, they’re the goons willing to do harm to anyone to advance the causes of the left.
How they make money has always remained shrouded in mystery. Sure, a lot of arrest records have exposed these mutants and the spoiled children of the rich – leftist children raised by bad, neglectful parents who value politics over the wellbeing of their offspring. Many of those people raising spoiled, violent Nazis are elected Democrats, including the number 2 Democrat in the House whose daughter was arrested this year for assaulting a police officer.
Well, pay attention to that story and all these stories because it could become very lucrative.
In addition to rarely facing charges, or having them summarily dropped when the buildings they’ve burned down stop smoldering, now these mutants have an income stream that doesn’t involve their parents or their trust funds…and it is taxpayers.
The New York Times reported this week, “Philadelphia has agreed to pay $9.25 million to more than 300 people who said they were injured in the police response to racial justice protests that erupted after the murder of George Floyd in 2020, the city said on Monday.”
The exact number of people getting paid for having their feelings hurt while rioting is 343, which breaks down to $26,967.93 per person. Even allowing for the lawyers to take a piece, which they probably didn’t because they’re usually paid by Democrat donors when defending their goon squad, that’s not a bad chunk of change for a day’s work.
What are they paid for? “Video taken at the time showed officers using tear gas and pepper spray on protesters who had gathered minutes earlier. Plaintiffs also said that officers used rubber bullets,” the Times reported.
They were rioting, the police tried to stop them from overtaking a freeway. They got off easy. For that kind of money, the cops should’ve done something real.
Actually, police should’ve let them run wild because what’s the point? Left-wing prosecutors won’t pursue charges, let them riot. Voter reelect idiots who embrace and enable these goons, let them enjoy the fruits of their votes.
But there’s more. Because these left-wing governments can’t simply cut checks to their gestapo, they have to shovel as much money as possible to their soldiers when they have the chance. “In addition, a grant of $500,000 to $600,000 to the Bread & Roses Community Fund will fund free mental health counseling for West Philadelphia residents. The group works toward racial, social and economic justice in the city,” the Times added.
Democrats are using taxpayer funds to reward their violent enforcers who terrorize largely minority neighborhoods and to slip cash to those who organize the left to advance their agenda and keep voters ignorant and in line.
It pays well to be anti-capitalist. It pays well to be a violent leftist. Of course, it’s easy to pay well when you’re paying with someone else’s money. If you think this is unique or will stop, you haven’t been paying attention.
