He got what he asked for, and then complains.
The saga of Scott Pelley is now over, as Tuesday evening saw the official word come out that he was fired by CBS News. In amazement, Pelley tries to act as the oppressed figure in all of this, after he boldly declared he would not work with incoming Executive Editor Nick Bilton. In the infamous Monday Meeting, Pelley had the stones to look at Bilton and declare he was “never” going to be welcome on the “60 Minutes” team.
Then, after refusing numerous meetings when Bilton arrived, Pelley was called to the carpet to sit with Bilton, Weiss, and someone a little higher up. Based on Pelley’s own version, he was told summarily that their meeting was over, and he was shown the door by the president of the entire network.
That, Scott, is a sign of you screwing up significantly.

The more Scott Pelley responds the more he justifies his removal.

He even admits that he was not ultimately cut loose by Bari Weiss, but by someone at the top of the leadership. That explains everything. https://t.co/sVqqen1xdf

But…but…that concerned the exact same guy!”
Ben Rhodes felt the need to join in on the puppy pile of those wailing about Scott Pelley being fired. It was not a smart move.
Chuck Ross brought up a reminder when Ben’s own brother, a CBS News executive, fired Pelley from the evening news desk, and when Pelley was out on assignment, had his office cleared out.
Now, we are trying to recall the widespread meltdown seen in the media landscape when that crude treatment of Pelley took place.
When your brother was head of CBS News he fired Scott Pelley as nightly news anchor and cleared out his office while he was away on assignment for 60 Minutes.

We are surprised Brian has yet to erect an altar with Pelley votives being lit.
Among those taking the news of Pelley’s firing the hardest might be Brian Stelter. He delivers a rather heavily dramatic reading of things, describing a deep-sea earthquake having taken place in journalism. Again, over a journalist losing his gig.
Scott Pelley's firing is like an underwater earthquake at CBS News – not visible on TV right away, but guaranteed to have many ripple effects pic.twitter.com/rJBNZvvi9X

To grasp why the melodramatics are flowing, Brian is eyeing the moment when the parent company of CBS finalizes the corporate merger, and he is under the guidance of these very same demonized folks.

See if — you can make it through — this montage of Scott Pelley’s perpetually halting — and pausing — unbiased hits — on the president — of these — United States.
This is tough to listen to, but it stands as evidence of the slanted approach Pelley took with his reporting.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – CNN
Where did she get inspired to deny his condition and write a book about it, Jake?!
In an amazing fashion, Jake Tapper looks at Jill Biden releasing a book about the mental slide of her husband while in office and has critical comments about this practice.
Yes, THAT Jake Tapper.
The man actually had the stones to say Jill is “seeking to try to find an excuse for what we all saw.”
Not only is he the man who was part of the obfuscation, but making it funnier is this comment being shared by his “Original Sin” co-author.
.@jaketapper on Jill Biden’s book: “The most charitable interpretation particularly the parts dealing with her husband’s aging, is that she’s having difficulty accepting what’s been happening to him for years. The less forgiving version is that she’s been enabling it and is now…
