A super PAC linked to Sen. Ted Cruz is launching a more than $1.7 million ad campaign Friday to boost Republican Senate nominee Ken Paxton, Axios has learned.https://t.co/Qr1eHLMlRi
The new ad will emphasize Democrat candidate James Talarico’s voting record on allowing Chinese nationals to buy vast swaths of Texas farm land, stating that “Communist China is buying up Texas” due to Talarico’s time in the Texas Legislature, according to a report from Axios.
The ad will be prominently featured during college football games as the season opens in the coming days.
While Talarico himself has boasted high fundraising numbers, Democrats nationwide are cash-poor. Filings from this past week revealed that the Democratic National Committee continues to be saddled with debt, having just $16 million in cash on hand to nearly $18 million in debt. The financial situation for Democrats has grown so dire that they were forced to mortgage off their headquarters to secure an $15 million heading into the midterms.

DNC:
Cash: $16.05 million
Debts: $17.9 million
RNC:
Cash: $130.4 million
Debts: $0
The RNC alone, however, has more than $130 million in cash on hand, and President Donald Trump has announced that he will begin releasing funds from his personal PAC to help boost GOP campaigns across the country.
The move comes as polls show Talarico and Paxton neck-and-neck with just over 70 days until the election.
