New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani knows exactly what he's doing when he attacks Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Mamdani called Netanyahu a "war criminal" who orchestrated a "genocide" in Gaza, neither of which is true. He used those false arguments to try and justify an effort to arrest Netanyahu when he shows up in New York for the UN General Assembly next month.
Despite Mamdani's best efforts, he couldn't find a way to slap the cuffs on Netanyahu, so he told his supporters to "protest" the General Assembly. We all knew then that it was a call to violence, not just against Netanyahu, but Jews in general, and at least one guy obeyed Mamdani.
Brayton Laschinger, of Sarasota, took Mamdani's words to heart and threw a brick at a synagogue.

A Florida man charged with a hate crime for hurling a brick through a synagogue window was motivated by a video of Mayor Zohran Mamdani calling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “war criminal,” his police interview suggests.
Sarasota resident Brayton Laschinger, 30, admitted he targeted the Chabad House on July 29 and told detectives he became enraged by “propaganda on social media that was making him mad,” the Sarasota Police Department said.
“Laschinger admitted to deliberately throwing the brick at the window of the synagogue because it was a Jewish temple,” Sarasota Police Department Detective Frank Castro wrote in the probable cause affidavit dated July 30.
Hundreds of miles away, a leftist listened to Mamdani and targeted Jews. That's exactly the outcome Mamdani wanted.
Hey @NYCMayor, see what your antisemitic rhetoric does? It’d be great to see you denounce this but I’m sure he’s just on a fast-track now to your cabinet.

He's proud of this.
This is exactly why rhetoric matters. If investigators establish that the synagogue vandalism was motivated by rhetoric targeting Netanyahu and Israel, that's deeply disturbing. At the same time, the broader point shouldn't be dismissed, when politicians repeatedly portray… pic.twitter.com/P2XrdoJ0fW

For the Left, these two things are interchangeable. They don't just hate Israel; they hate Jews. They use the hatred of Israel to justify hatred and violence towards Jews.
