The Next, Predictable Attack

 Michael Barone points out -- contrary to the claims of some political thinkers -- that demographic changes do not necessarily always work in the Democrats' favor.  He points to compelling evidence that Republicans have basically locked up the white working-class vote, long a mainstay of the Democratic coalition.


Obviously not.  But when the charges of racism against Republicans are leveled, as they inevitably will be -- when the desperate Obama campaign is trying to goose minority turnout -- it will be worth remembering who played the race card first.
