Obama ECard: Hey Mom, Can You Spare $18,000 For My Birth Control?

This is an actual ecard available now on barackobama.com.

"Dear Mom, Mitt Romney says he would repeal the Affordable Care Act. So here's a quick question: Can I borrow $18,000 to help pay for my birth control? Thanks!"

Okay, first off, that's just embarrassing. Writing mom to beg for birth control? Really? Second, $18,000 for birth control? Are those pills coated in 24-karat gold? Is the contraception available at every drug store without a prescription made from some endangered and rare rubber tree? At $18,000, this chick is paying $1500 per month to get busy. Third, call the waaaambulace. Romney isn't a big bad bully trying to take away birth control.

This card in addition to the life of Julia, proves one thing: cradle to grave service from the federal government is what Barack Obama cares about.

Remember when the left and Team Obama freaked out when Romney said college students should borrow money from their parents to help pay for college or to start a business?

College is designed (or at least it used to be designed) to give students skills they need for a career which leads to more personal freedom and the ability to pay for things like, oh I don't know, birth control. Starting a business promotes individualism and hard work, not entitlement. Asking parents for money to help with college (and no, birth control does not count as part of college) or to start a business is a completely normal and dignified act in American society. Asking for mom to pay for birth control? Not so much.

UPDATE: It seems Planned Parenthood provided the $18,000 figure, the cost of birth control for life. This makes it even worse. The card is asking mom to pay for birth control....for life.
