"I Never Thought That I'd Be On National TV For Wearing An American Flag Shirt"

Nobody wants to discuss the mind-set of these Mexican kids. Thanks to our public "educational" system, these kids are taught to see themselves as Mexican--not American. The most common comment from the Mexican students at the Bay Area school is this: "How would they feel if we wore Mexican colors on the Fourth of July?" The implication here is that these kids do not feel any sense of gratification to the country their families came to. Celebrating the Fourth of July is seen as a holiday for whitey--probably of the racist sort.

Although the grass is literally brown in Mexico, Mexican-Americans have been taught to see nothing but romantically-colored green. There is no doubt that these kids live with a hefty dose of cognitive dissonance--based on the reality that millions of Mexicans are dying (literally) to escape Mexico and come to America--otherwise they would pack up and take a one way trip back to their mythologized promised land called Mexico.

Ingratitude is one of the ugliest of human traits.
