Obama: Republicans Are "Threat to our democracy."

Two gems from Obama's message-machine today — the first, a campaign mailer:
Right now, the same special interests that we've fought for two years are flooding the airwaves with negative ads. They don't have the courage to stand up and disclose the identity of their donors. They could be insurance companies. They could be Wall Street banks. We don't know.

This kind of politics isn't just a threat to Democrats. It's a threat to our democracy.
Got that? Legal campaign advertising — restrictions on which are typically pushed forth by Democrats — are a "threat to our Democracy." Then, this is Obama in Rhode Island yesterday, stumping for Democrat David Cicilline in Rhode Island's 1st Congressional District:
If Latinos sit out this election instead of saying, 'We're gonna punish our enemies and we're gonna reward our friends, who stand with us on issues that are important to us," if they don't see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, then its going to be harder.
Punish our enemies?
