Kids Love Candy

When I hear about everything that is going on in Washington D.C. and how the main stream media in their ObamaMessiahship type love affair try to tell us how much The One is popular...I am reminded of a story my mom once told me.
Son, imagine if you and your friends came to me everyday and asked for a candy bar...and everyday I gave in and handed you something sweet. A couple things would be true, one I would be very popular with you and your friends and two I'd be a pushover who you would expect to come back to and ask for something different...this time more expensive than just a candy bar. What kind of a parent would I be? Sometimes I have to say no, and someday you're going to have to say no to. It's a tough lesson, but an important one.
Trust me, I wanted the candy bar and I didn't like being told no. However, when I came and asked for something I really wanted - that bike - I had a better chance of getting it.

This story so eliquently tell us what is going on in Washington D.C. Sure, it's popular with the American people to receive all kinds of goodies but what kind of Government do we have now? No one one wants to be told and Barack Obama wants to hand out all the goodies and sure he'll have high approval ratings. But as Michael Steele said, just because you have a 70% approval rating doesn't mean what you are doing is right. Pass out more candy bars, and everybody will be happy. Now, we have a society where no one has to pay their mortgage, no one has to have a job, no one has to have personal responsibility...because we are down a slippery slope to socialism all because Barack Obama occupies the White House.
