Bush 41 Endorses KBH in Texas Guber Race

From NBC's Mark Murray

Former President George H.W. Bush and his wife today officially endorsed Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison in her gubernatorial primary against incumbent Gov. Rick Perry.

The former president is the latest person close to George W. Bush -- the former Texas governor -- to back Hutchison, joining Karl Rove, Karen Hughes and Dick Cheney.

The primary is March 2, which happens to be Texas Independence Day. Perry is viewed as the favorite in the contest.

In another story, the Texas Tribune notes how Bushie loyalists are lining up their support behind Hutchison and asks the obvious question: Why?
What's going on here? It's a question without a definitive answer and a subject that those in-the-know do not want to go anywhere near. Nearly every one of the two dozen sources contacted for this story refused to be quoted by name; several of those who went on the record saved their best material for after they went back off.
But, the Tribune says, everyone with knowledge of the Bushworld-Perryworld divide had a theory: everything from a moderate-conservative divide to a Bush family hatred of the Perrys.

All very intriguing.  It will be especially interesting to see what effect--if any--the Bush family endorsements have on moderate Hutchison's bid to replace conservative Governor Perry.
