PA Congressman Introduces Resolution to Withhold WHO Funding Until Director Resigns

Pennsylvania Congressmen Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) introduced a resolution co-sponsored by a group of GOP colleagues in the House of Representatives Tuesday afternoon to hold the World Health Organization (WHO) accountable for doing damage control for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The legislation calls for funding of the WHO, via American taxpayers, to be suspended until the Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, resigns on account of complicity with the CCP:

American taxpayers provide the primary financing to the WHO. The 2020-21 budget is a whopping $4.8 billion.

In the upper chamber last week, Republican Senator Martha McSally (R-AZ) called for Dr. Tedros’ resignation, which is now supported by other GOP Senators, including Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Marco Rubio (R-FL).

The WHO is complicit with the CCP, a regime whose negligence is responsible for the widespread outbreak of COVID-19. Taxpayers should not be funding an effort to run interference for the Chinese Communist Party, which covered up its irresponsible handling of a global health pandemic and thus cost Americans their lives.
