It shouldn’t really shock anyone. We’ve known this has been the position of the Democratic Party for quite some time. They oppose border enforcement. They even had a few 2020 candidates push for the decriminalization of border crossings. They want to give illegal aliens health care. The core of the 2020 Democratic agenda on immigration is very unpopular, something that even former Obama adviser David Axelrod noted at the start of the debate season. Now, we have former Vice President Joe Biden saying that illegal aliens are more American than actual U.S. citizens because they do well in schools at an Iowa campaign stop. Excuse me?

Biden is in familiar waters in the sense that he’s run for president twice before and lost. He knows what comes with a national campaign. What this shows is that he’s way ahead of his skis in terms of immigration. Maybe not a shocker to most, but Biden, while a hardcore liberal, is not one who will be seen with such positivity among the Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez crowd. He’s too conservative—I used that term lightly here. For many, 2020 is revolution or bust. Hence, why Biden is sort of trying to test the waters with this social justice warrior nonsense. With his standing in the polls buoyed by name recognition and not necessarily due to his policy positions, Biden needs to start adding more depth to his 2020 candidacy. His two biggest rivals in Iowa, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren are stuck in Washington for the Trump impeachment trial. It’s just Biden and former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg in the Hawkeye State. They’re alone. Time to try and chip away at some of the Warren-Sanders base, which is fractured and going after one another over what appears to be a coordinated smear against Bernie.
CNN reported that Bernie told Warren at a private gathering that a woman could not win the presidency against Trump. It was aired out further in the Iowa debate earlier this month on the national stage. The knives are out. Time to audition for these lefty loons. And right now, bashing federal immigration authorities is the national pastime with these people. Biden has even said that he would not deport any illegal alien caught driving while intoxicated, saying he would fire any ICE agent who did so (via Fox News):
Former Acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Tom Homan said Wednesday that Joe Biden has "lost his mind," calling out the former vice president for saying that the United States should not deport illegal immigrants over a drunk-driving arrest.
Biden also threatened ICE with punishment if the agency were to deport illegal immigrants arrested for drunk driving, saying his administration would fire agents who arrest and deport illegal immigrants for such a crime.
“They go off to school wondering whether their mom comes and picks them up, is she not going to be there because an ICE agent was there to arrest her,” Biden told Vice News on Monday.
The 2020 Democratic front-runner added, “You’re going to get fired, you’re fired if in fact you do that. You only arrest for the purpose of dealing with a felony that’s committed and I don’t count drunk driving as a felony.”
But crazy could help you get the Democratic nomination. The general election, however, is a different animal, where the 2020 Democratic agenda, reeking of elitism, self-righteousness, and radical leftism does not play well at all, especially on immigration. It's odd that the Left doesn't see trashing your own people as something that could screw you over in an election, but I'm not going to stop a Democrat from walking into a meat grinder.
