Nikki Haley Claps Back at Ilhan Omar on Economic Sanctions

The token anti-Semitic leaning member in the House of Representatives, Rep. Ilhan Omar (R, MN-05), expressed her disagreement with potential economic sanctions on Iran being floated by the Trump Administration. Any sanctions would, of course, be in response to recent behavior by Iran which both endangers the lives of American and Iraqi soldiers, and stifles the voices of Iranian protesters addressing their government’s oppressive regime.

Sanctions on Iran send a clear message, that the United States will not stand for the behavior of terrorists. The Trump Administration will call on the other countries to join the United States in holding Iran accountable, per a release from The State Department:

“As President Trump said yesterday, our sanctions will remain until Iran changes its behavior. The civilized world must send a clear and unified message to the Iranian regime: Iran’s campaign of terror, murder, and mayhem will not be tolerated any longer.  The United States calls on all nations to stand against the Iranian regime’s ideology of terror and to hold Iran accountable for its violence,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in the release.

Former Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, who has been at the forefront of the fight for America-first foreign policy, called out Rep. Omar on Twitter:

As Ambassador Haley points out, Rep. Omar has been a staunch advocate for economic sanctions on Israel, as is consistent with the Boycott, Divest, Sanction (BDS) movement. At best, Rep. Omar’s logic is inconsistent; in reality, her sentiment shows a severe lack of knowledge about what economic sanctions really are.

Rep. Omar is notorious for her anti-Semitic rhetoric. As Dave Rubin pointed out, in reply to Ambassador Haley’s tweet, Rep. Omar’s support for economic sanctions exclusively on Israel raises a dire question about her motives:
