Joe Biden Blasted For Criticizing Trump's Latest Pardons

Critics slammed Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden for saying President Trump betrayed the rule of law by pardoning two Army officers who were accused of war crimes.

“Trump's intervention in the American military justice system to pardon service members accused or convicted of war crimes betrays the rule of law, the values that make our country exceptional & the men and women who wear the uniform honorably,” Biden tweeted. “He is not fit to command our troops.”

President Trump granted pardons to Army First Lt. Clint Lorance and Army Maj. Mathew Golsteyn. Lorance had served six years out of a 19-year sentence for ordering soldiers to open fire on three Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan, and Golsteyn was awaiting trial for killing an alleged Taliban bombmaker.

Biden seems to be forgetting that President Obama freed terrorists and traitors, including swapping five members of the Afghan Taliban in exchange for deserter Bowe Bergdahl; he commuted the sentence of Bradley (now Chelsea) Manning, who carried out the largest leak of classified documents in the history of the U.S.; and commuted the sentence of unrepentant convicted terrorist Oscar Lopez Rivera, the leader of Puerto Rican terror group FALN, which set off more than 130 bomb attacks in the U.S., killing at least six people.
