House Speaker Nancy Pelosi emerged from a highly anticipated Democrat meeting about impeachment Wednesday morning and accused President Trump of engaging in a cover-up.
"We believe the President of the United States is engaged in a cover-up," Pelosi said, citing no evidence.

Despite Pelosi's harsh words, she's still not willing to say it's time to officially go down the road to impeachment and continues to stress the process should be based on facts rather than politics.
"We do believe that it's important to follow the facts. We believe that no one is above the law, including the President of the United States," she said.

Fox is told that Pelosi told Democrats that their decisions about forging ahead with impeachment/probes would not be based on poltics.

This flies in the face of what Hoyer said yesterday, conceding that there would be some “political calculus” when I asked him.
The meeting on impeachment Wednesday morning was called after the White House denied a subpoena from the House Judiciary Committee for former White House Counsel Don McGahn to testify in an open hearing.
A number of Democrats have been pushing for impeachment since President Trump took office in January 2017, but the effort to move forward significantly escalated after Special Counsel Robert Mueller finished his investigation into the 2016 presidential election. As part of the probe, McGahn testified for 30 hours to Mueller investigators.
As a reminder, Mueller found no collusion or conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russian government. Further, it was determined by former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Bill Barr President Trump did not commit obstruction of justice during the investigation, making Pelosi's claims of a cover-up quite strange.
