The Latest Marathon Debate Between Kellyanne and Chris Cuomo

CNN must like the fireworks between White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway and anchor Chris Cuomo. In yet another entertaining debate Monday, the two went toe-to-toe over the new James Comey interview that aired on ABC Sunday night. In the interview, with George Stephanopoulos, Comey shared his unflattering opinion of President Trump, including how he's "morally unfit" to be president.

The White House and the RNC responded to Comey's interview - the first since his firing - with contempt. The former FBI director is obsessed with the spotlight and is just trying to sell copies of his new book, they purported. Conway made some of the points on CNN. Eyerolls and interruptions galore, her interview with Cuomo went more than 20 minutes long, even cutting into the 9:00 news hour, long after Cuomo's show was supposed to end.

Conway made news even before her chat with Cuomo. On ABC News, she said that Comey had "swung an election."

“He thought the wrong person would win,” she added.

Asked to clarify on Cuomo's show, Conway backtracked.

"I watched Comey and I said, 'this guy swung an election? I don't think so.'"

Cuomo pushed back, noting that Comey "hurt" Hillary Clinton's chances by reopening the email investigation.

"No he didn't," Conway said. "He didn’t hurt her. She hurt herself."

She also noted that Clinton never broke the 50 percent mark in any key swing state.

"It had nothing to do with Comey."

Still, after that exchange, CNN was apparently more interested in her quote from her previous interview.

Conway noticed the headlines and explained on Twitter she was being sarcastic.

Another fun exchange was when Conway asked Cuomo if his job was safe at CNN when Cuomo asked whether Trump was considering firing certain members of his administration.

"Is your job safe at CNN?" Conway asked. "How do you know that?"

"It’s very safe," Cuomo said. "I have a contract. Very safe."
