Car Bomb Rams Into Christian Office In Australian Capital City

A van filled with gas cylinders rammed into the Australian Christian Lobby's office in Canberra and exploded on Wednesday evening. While details remain scarce, all staff members are reported to be safe. The office building is damaged, but was empty at the time of the explosion.

Lyle Shelton, the managing director of ACL tweeted an image of a burnt out van and confirmed that all staff were safe.

"All staff are safe. I do not know the condition of the driver. Prayers appreciated," he tweeted.

Mr Shelton added: "Shocked this could happen in Australia".

The explosion destroyed the van and blew out the building's windows, according to reports.

Pictures from the scene show a burnt out shell of a van next to the building.

No suspects or motive has been released.
