Trump to Meet With Beltway Republicans Monday

GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump will meet with a number of high profile, beltway Republicans Monday in Washington D.C. ahead of a speech to the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC. Some are calling the move a way to unite the Republican party during a divisive primary and others are accusing Trump of cozying up to establishment Republicans. The Washington Post has the details:

Donald Trump will host a group of nearly two dozen influential Republicans on Monday afternoon for an off-the-record gathering that his allies hope will improve his relationship with the congressional GOP and the party's Washington establishment, according to two people who were invited.

Several members of the House and Senate are expected to participate, plus a bevy of consultants and veteran power brokers, the people said, requesting anonymity to discuss the session.

Meanwhile, a number of conservative grassroots activists from around the country met in Washington last week to strategize ways to stop Trump from winning the Republican nomination.
