Senate Confirms Pompeo for CIA Nomination

Despite Democrats attempting to stall the nomination process for Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-KS), President Trump's choice for CIA Director, the Senate voted to confirm him on Monday.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer supposedly told the Senate they'd have a vote on Pompeo on Inauguration Day. When that did not happen, Republicans accused Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of being a liar and demanded a vote. On the Senate floor a few hours before the vote on Monday, Schumer said Republicans were trying to "ram through" Trump's nominations without proper vetting.
