Almost Half a Million Customers Sign Christian Group's Pledge to Boycott Target

Parents are justifiably upset after Target announced it's going to allow people who identify as transgender to use whichever bathroom they choose. Hundreds of thousands of upset customers have signed a pledge introduced by the Christian group American Family Association to boycott Target until it reverses the dangerous policy.

"Target's policy is exactly how sexual predators get access to their victims,'' AFA president Tim Wildmon wrote in the call for a boycott. "And with Target publicly boasting that men can enter women's bathrooms, where do you think predators are going to go? Clearly, Target's new policy poses a danger to wives and daughters."

This whole conversation reached a fever pitch in North Carolina, where lawmakers introduced a "bathroom bill" to prevent transgender people from using whichever restroom they wanted. The legislation, which is now law, caused such a stir that businesses like PayPal opted against expanding its operations in the state, and artists like Bruce Springsteen cancelled concerts.

Even the presidential candidates have weighed in on the controversy, with Sen. Ted Cruz saying it's "common sense" to prohibit a grown man from entering the same restroom as young girls. Donald Trump, however, cited economic factors as a reason why North Carolina should get rid of the law and let people use whichever bathroom in which they feel comfortable.
