Newt Gingrich is officially back from vacation and made his first campaign stop in Hudson, New Hampshire today after a nearly two-week break from the campaign trail.

At an event at C&M Machine Products Inc., Gingrich signed the “Strong America Now” deficit reduction pledge, which vows to eliminate the deficit without adding new taxes.

“Americans are not overtaxed, they’re overspent,” Gingrich said in a statement. “Raising taxes will only further hurt economic growth and will ultimately cause bigger budget deficits. The most important step to balancing the budget is growing the economy and creating jobs. You can’t balance the budget with 9% unemployment. My Jobs and Prosperity Plan uses the same proven policies straight from the Reagan playbook we used when I was Speaker to balance the budget, reform government, and enable the creation of over 8 million new jobs.”
