RALEIGH, N.C. -- U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan is traveling across North Carolina to talk about the federal budget, and her first stop is scheduled for Raleigh.

Hagan says she's beginning her "Fighting for the Future" budget listening tour Friday afternoon at the Jaycee Park Community Center. It's one of four stops that the Democratic senator plans to make to talk about the federal budget.

Among those participating in the initial discussion are economist Mike Walden of N.C. State University and Andrea Harris, president of the N.C. Institute of Minority Economic Development.
