UNITED NATIONS — World leaders have adopted new targets to combat the global HIV epidemic, including providing drug treatment to 15 million people by 2015.

The U.N. General Assembly approved the political declaration by consensus Friday at the end of a three-day high-level meeting to spotlight the successes in tackling AIDS and the need to intensify the fight.
