Economy adds 117,000 jobs, rate drops to 9.1 percent

The economy added 117,000 jobs in July as the unemployment rate ticked back to 9.1 percent.

The figures won't give a huge boost to economic confidence, but they do beat expectations. Forecasters had projected the economy would add around 75,000 jobs.
