House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer is leapfrogging Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Chris Van Hollen (Md.) for the title of top DCCC contributor this cycle.

A senior aide to Hoyer said this week that the Maryland Democrat will shell out another $200,000 to the DCCC before Election Day, which would make him the largest contributor to the committee this cycle. Hoyer’s additional infusion of cash would bring his total contributions to the DCCC to $1.75 million for the two-year period, $150,000 more than Van Hollen has offered up. Van Hollen has given a total of $1.6 million to the DCCC so far this cycle, triple the amount of his $450,000 party dues.

Hoyer, whose party dues are $800,000, had given $1.55 million to the DCCC as of Oct 19.
