Do you feel the leaked information from a global warming alarmist organization is meaningful?

I was privileged to spend some time with fellow conservatives, Republicans and concerned citizens in Hershey, PA., last Friday, where I addressed the state GOP. Here's what we discussed.

We are not here tonight just because we are Republicans. We are here because we know that we have the strongest, freest and most prosperous country in the history of the world, and that if we adhere to the traditional principles of the Republican Party, which are the first principles of our country, we will keep it that way.

We know that we were given a country based upon certain eternal truths–the wisdom of the scriptures and the wisdom of the ages … the fact that there is such a thing as human nature that has to be taken into account when governing … and most fundamentally, based upon the fact that people are meant to be free. Our founders derived from these principles a government that had its powers separated, checked and balanced because they knew that power tended to corrupt. In keeping with that they incorporated in our Constitution a system of Federalism to make sure that there was not too much power concentrated in the central government, which was given delineated powers and no others.

From these principles we developed a market economy, with the rule of law, a system of trade with other nations, and a strong national defense. From the prosperity, freedom and strength that came from this system we became a friend and example to all those around the world who aspired to those same things. We won wars, including the Cold War, and enhanced world stability and a friendlier environment within which others could pursue their own freedom. This of course enhanced our own security as Americans.

But today many of the principles that made our country great are under assault. Some of our fellow Republicans say that things are different now and we must change with the times. We recognize that appropriate change is necessary, just as the conservative thinker Edmund Burke did when he supported the American Revolution.

However we must ask those who would modify our principles, “When did freedom and liberty become outdated?” Then, “What part of our Constitutional framework needs to be abandoned?”

We need to recognize that in a constantly changing world there are still some unchanging truths. It is when our party has abandoned our principles that we have gotten into trouble. Not when we’ve adhered to them.

The Democratic Party of today would abandon many of these principles and what they would not abandon they would distort. They have their own principles. They believe:

  • In highlighting and dwelling on America’s imperfections.
  • In isolationism.
  • In policies that will give the world the impression that we are weak and divided.
  • In declaring defeat even when we are winning.
  • In stopping or reneging on free trade agreements with other countries, and making the word of the United States less reliable.
  • In turning over the education of our children to the NEA.
  • In continuing to expand our entitlement program spending even as these programs are headed bankruptcy.

Today’s Democratic Party would persuade the American people that the government is the solution to all of their problems and that every economic downturn is because of a conspiracy against them.

They would change the definition of marriage and appoint liberal judges to set our social policy. In fact, they have thrown our court system into turmoil in order to ensure that President Bush will not be able to appoint any more judges in hopes that next year a new Democratic president can give us a new batch of judges approved by MoveOn.org.

They would bring about the biggest tax increase in American history.

And to lead this effort they apparently have nominated a man who keeps repeating, “Yes we can.” Well, America now knows what he means by that and our response is, “No we won’t!” Our vision is an entirely different one.

There are two things that have been firmly established on the American political scene over the last several years. First these liberal Democratic policies have been rejected by the American people.

I had the opportunity to help make that happen. In the 90’s, we passed welfare reform, balanced the budget and began rebuilding our military. Since 2000 we’ve cut taxes for all Americans who pay taxes and seen unprecedented economic growth. We have put two good justices on the Supreme Court. We passed the Defense of Marriage Act. These things could not have been done if the American people believed in what the Democrats are now trying to sell. I might also add that under President Bush’s leadership we did the things necessary to prevent another attack on this country.

The second thing that is clear is that the American people see the need for strong, experienced leadership in dealing with matters of foreign policy and international threats. Look at the world today.

  • The President of Iran again this week announced the impending destruction of the United States and Israel, as Iran becomes a nuclear state.
  • North Korea has already developed a nuclear capability.
  • The Taliban in Pakistan continues with their plans to drive allied forces out of Afghanistan.
  • Russia is belligerent and China is engaged in a rapid military buildup.

This is no time for on-the-job training in the White House for someone who thinks that polite conversation with state sponsors of terrorism is the key to our safety. But despite all of this the Democratic Party is nominating for President the most liberal, and one of the most inexperienced members of the United States Senate–a man who has never strayed from the official Democratic position on any issue or reached out across the aisle in any effort to compromise on issues important to our country.

Under his leadership the Democrats would take us down the road to greater reliance upon an expanded, and in many cases inept, government to a larger national debt and weaker national defense. We are not going to let that happen.

John McCain’s entire career, his entire life, has prepared him to lead this country in the troubled times we live in today. His story is one of sacrifice, courage, and placing the interests of his country above his own. There are scores of issues that will be discussed and debated during this campaign. And we won’t always agree among ourselves. We must ask ourselves what are the things most vital to the welfare of our country. I believe, among them must be the issues of national security, the taxation of American citizens, the appointment of judges who will follow the law and the Constitution and not make it up as they go along, government reform and life itself. And on these issues John McCain has and will stand strong. Whether it’s saying no to the continued expansion of entitlement programs we can’t pay for, correcting our mistakes in Iraq to ensure success or pork barrel spending of either party, while others wavered, he stood strong–sometimes almost alone.

It is clear that as the ever-moving political pendulum has swung against Republicans this year, we have probably nominated the only Republican candidate we can get elected. Obviously, I have (not) always been of that opinion. We must take advantage of this fact and stay united as Republicans for the benefit of our country. I know that folks in Pennsylvania appreciate this more than most. Any realistic scenario for victory recognizes the necessity of our carrying the State of Pennsylvania. We must be dedicated to the proposition that America’s greatest days are still ahead of her and that they cannot be achieved by turning the keys to this country over to the most left-wing elements of the Democratic Party.

Not too long ago I was asked by a group of 11 year olds why I was so interested in government and politics. I thought about it for a minute and then I said that, while I was interested in politics from an early age, as I got older I became more interested in what politics were supposed to do, like protect our freedoms. I told them that over the years as I read world history it dawned on me just how unique our country was. How a small group of intellectuals and a much larger group of average people, servants, tradesmen, some folks who had had run-ins with the law but all of whom shared a desire for liberty, came here, carved out a place in the wilderness and decided they could govern themselves. How they came up with a Constitution that was the envy of the world and still is. How they elected a President who could have been a king, but instead served his terms, got on his horse and rode out of town never to return.

How 70 years later at a place called Gettysburg another great President wondered aloud whether a government of free people could endure when the going got rough. He had faith that it could. And it did.

Every generation of Americans since, in order to protect this unique place, has shared this faith and made its share of sacrifices and done the things necessary to make sure that our country did endure strong and free. And now it’s our turn.

Thank you for all that you have done in this effort and I look forward to our working together in this election year to add another illustrious chapter to the history of our party and our nation.

You had me right up until you said McLame's name. He and a lot of other R's would fit right in with the Dems.

Great article, Fred
McCain may be the only Repub who is electable, and keeping Oh, Oh Obama out of the whitehouse has got to be a priority, if only for the judges. He can be a place holder while we get the republican party back on track and that is going to take more than having gripe sessions at town hall. We managed to get our voices heard over the amnesty debacle, but now seem to have sat back on our laurels. We have got to keep our voices being heard and put the fear of the constituents into the congresswhores who think they are safe and comfy in DC.

EXCELLENT ! ! Thompson is, of course,
spot on! "...We must take advantage of this fact and stay united as Republicans for the benefit of our country."

If we do not, and (God forbid) B. Hussein Obama is elected, January 20, 2009 will be the date that will go down in the history books as THE DAY that began the demise of the greatest country in the world!

With B. Hussein Obama as pres., we'll be dead in the water, and no recovery possible.

Regardless of the outcome of this election, I will have a clear conscience knowing that I did not help facilitate the demise of my country!

Vic: The problem is, the alternative

Protector of the constitution!
To bad the next leader of the free world will be either a Socialist or a Liberal Centrist that is behind the Global Warming scam.

As far as Senator McCain upholding the constitution, he was the prime mover behind the first step to getting rid of fee speech. Not to mention his amnesty stance

Pulling the lever every year for the "lesser" of the evils keeps the Republican Party shifting left. I will no longer do that. Bush was the last liberal that I voted for.

Currently for Barr

Republican == Conservative??
I thought you guys all were adamant that the Republican Party and the Conservative Movement were two entirely different and distinct things. Here's your great hero, Fred (Reagan) Thompson, declaring that the two are one and the same, and that that entity is the one that's been wrecking the country for the last eight years.

America the Beautiful
McCain and Obama have both bought into the climate change hoax. Both believe in cap-and-trade. Neither would drill in ANWR. Therefore, either one would oversee the collapse of the American economy and America shortly thereafter.

So, why does it matter who we elect?

Fred and Folks
"Every generation of Americans since, in order to protect this unique place, has shared this faith and made its share of sacrifices and done the things necessary to make sure that our country did endure strong and free. And now it’s our turn."

No Fred, you folks had your turn and severely damaged both the country and the people. Take your revisionist history and your fear and go home. The adults and citizens will now repair the damage. The future can be bright and growing not what you offer fear, stagnation and decay. Go home your day is over

Vic/Anne
"...Pulling the lever every year for the "lesser" of the evils keeps the Republican Party shifting left. I will no longer do that. Bush was the last liberal that I voted for."

Oh no Vic. The Bush Regime is EXACTLY what you get with your extreme conservatism - every man for himself.

King Liberal
You couldn't be more wrong about the GOP and its shift away from conservatism! The reason Americans don't like the direction of this country is because they continue to be spoon fed by the media in thinking Bush is a conservative. He is far from it in many ways. The GOP failed when they tried to be political rather than conservative.

Americans are lazy and/or uneducated regarding civics for the most part. We would rather be told what to think than think for ourselves. This is why the Obama's of the world can stand there and spout fluff without substance, and we get all misty-eyed. Conservatism is the great hope of our nation. It is true proven principles based on letting the people run their lives, not the government. But like I mentioned before many Americans are lazy and/or uneducated which is just how the liberals want it. Conservatism is freedom, liberalism is oppression. Don't be fooled!

Yawn. Nothing new here
No wonder he lost ... definitely no new ideas here. just more of the same Bush ideas now being pushed by McCain. Wake me up when Obama is the president.

A vote for Barr is a vote for Obama!

are lazy and Vic you just add to the problem. The Congress, the parties, and the POTUS only do what you let them get away with. Simply pulling the lever and lending no constant maintenance does nothing.

Your responsibility begins at the ballot box not ends.

In your post #15 everything you said is pure baloney.

Everyone has criticized Bush and quite loudly, some of it fair and some of it not. It is called objectivity and giving credit where it is due and when it isn't give them heck.

Quit letting the NY Times do your thinking for you.

I, and I wager the rest of the country, could care less if Bush the torturer is a conservative But we do know the Bush is exactly what you get when you put conservatives in power.

Your conservatism is based on fear and weakness. Look what you said about the American people above. You produce ineffective and incompetent government.

"Conservatism is freedom, liberalism is oppression. Don't be fooled!"

Conservatism is fear and timidity they do not produce freedom and the peoplr know it. Come grab our hands and let's work for a better tomorrow and embrace the future and growth. Fear and timidity are for weaklings

Revisionist???
Where to start? King Liberal? That's like saying Chief Moron. I would say though that Hal and Bob are trying to take the title from you, King.

It must be comforting for liberals to have the option of lying when making points as then they can never be wrong.

McCain was not the choice of Republicans...he was the product of open primaries and media endorsement. Liberals chose our candidate and then cried foul when Operation Chaos had Repubs crossing over to keep Hillary alive. The only conservative in the race was FDT and now he is trying to prevent us from letting an America-hating Marxist gain power over the greatest nation on earth.

Bush is not a conservative and McCain is far less of one than Bush. They are big government conservatives who believe, like liberals, that more government is the solution. Yet lets get the record straight...8 years of economic growth, and, unlike the media who have us believe otherwise, no recessive quarter yet. Notice any drag on the economy lately? Perhaps since the Dems have taken over Congress and garnered the lowest rating of Congress in the history of the US? In less than two years they have demonstrated they'll lead us, like liberalism always does, in the wrong direction.

We need real conservatism to finally abolish socialist bureaucracies and insist the federal government only spends money in the areas in which their limited delegated powers lie; "provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare (fair trade amongst the states), and secure the blessings of liberty (defense)." That's it. Then you'd see how prosperous and free this nation would be.

"The reason Americans don't like the direction of this country is because they continue to be spoon fed by the media in thinking Bush is a conservative."

So you're saying that describing Bush as a "compassionate conservative" was something the media made up? Or that the "true conservatives" objected to the use of that term at the time and worked hard to get someone else nominated in 2004?

Or is the best image here an anchor chain hanging from a boat with a bunch of rats running down it?

Hey there

McCain is no conservative either! The only reason that might get me to vote for him is that at least two Supreme Court justices will step down or pass away in the next four years, Justice Ginsburg and Justice Stevens. Both are liberals on the Court and would be replaced by liberals if Obama is elected. With McCain, it's really a wash since the Senate is controlled by the Dems. So there is a 99.9% chance I will not vote for president in November.

I will, however, vote to re-elect Senator John Cornyn. He is a true conservative with dignity and integrity. No, I don't always agree with him on all issues, but I would vote for him to be our president if he were on the ballot! Cornyn in 2012!

Lastly, I agree with you regarding Hannity and Rush, although the latter can be quite hilarious at times. Note, though, that when the mainstream media is so blatantly biased, one would expect the Hannity's to counter on the extreme. I don't watch Fox News much; I READ, AMERICA! I think. That is why I'm right! lol

King, I don't believe Bush should be pushed under the bus, but at the same time, he shouldn't be called the worst president ever. Jimmy Carter owns that distinction and continues to prove even today.

Wisdom of the Scriptures ?
The Bible is our downfall. There we get the "Evil" of Abortion, Wealth, Sex, Drugs, Alcohol, Homosexuality. We ride like Don Quixote on our pompous crusade. Any Conservative who ever came close to the above is out, leaving Milquetoasts (and Liars).

Liberals conversely get to play "Enlightened Modernists".

Thus have we lost our "lesser" goals: Limited Government, Liberty, Property, survival of our Country.

Hal, Hal, Hal
Have you read either of the books I suggested? Maybe Goldwater? If you had and understood them, you would not have been so stupidly assumptive of my views. Like a typical liberal you fail to understand my point and resort to the following:

1. Call names (But YOU are of the elite and will tell is what we need to know? Amazing how you despise the American people WOW) NOTE: Don't read into things I DIDN'T SAY. I never said I despise US, only the system that teaches US not to think for ourselves, i.e. the schools and the government (whether GOP or Dem).

2. Change the subject (I, and I wager the rest of the country, could care less if Bush the torturer is a conservative But we do know the Bush is exactly what you get when you put conservatives in power.) NOTE: Bush is no conservative! Don't assume I'm a Bush fan; I'm not!

3. LIE! (Your conservatism is based on fear and weakness. Look what you said about the American people above. You produce ineffective and incompetent government.) NOTE: YOU, Hal, lied about what I said. MY Conservatism?! Tell me Hal, what is my conservatism? If you think it's Bush conservatism, keep smoking! You prove my point about lazy AND/OR uneducated Americans.

Congratulations, Hal! My work is done here. America, read and think! I don't want disciples; I want intelligent Americans who see truth and who judge TRUE conservatism on its own merits, not on my or Hal's opinion.

B. Hussein Obama is a MARXIST!!!!!

And for all we know, he could be a "card carrying Marxist." Heck, he could be a LOT of things that we don't know about, NONE of which would be good for our country!

You don't have to agree with everything McCain says... Most people don't agree with everything any president or candidate says.

BUT, with John McCain as pres., we may have a fighting chance to RECOVER from whatever the condition our country might be in, whether or NOT it is of his doing!

With B. Hussein Obama as pres., we'll be dead in the water, and NO recovery possible.

If the SOCIALIZED Health Care doesn't get us, then the "nationalization" of our oil companies will. And those are just for starters!!!!

Do you want a pres. who will be having our troops leaving the ME within hours of being sworn in? Not me.

A vote for B. Hussein Obama (or Barr) is a vote for the demise of this country!

".. Liberals chose our candidate and then cried foul when Operation Chaos had Repubs crossing over to keep Hillary alive."

LMAO Chaos was yet another brilliant marketing tool by Rush. He is one of the largest users of polls in the country. When he saw the defections from the Republican Party he developed chaos to make it seem like he was doing it. He is good

LMAO we used the credit card and charged it silly. But now we are maxed out why do you think the dollar is crashing that is a major part of the price of oil. Creating money and debt to stimulate an economy is pure Keynes and guess what he said this would happen if you over stimulated an economy - more conservative incompetence

Voting for change
Polls clearly show that the voters want a change from the politics and policies of the last 8 years at least. (Maybe an even bigger change.)

That's why Obama won the Dem nomination and has a good chance to win the election--he's promising real changes.

The GOP seems totally oblivious to that mood in the country. Or maybe they just don't accept it.

The GOP defeat in the 2006 Congressional elections should have been a wakeup call to change direction. But they didn't. That was the last opportunity they had to convince the voters that they had heard the message and would give the public the fresh start they were demanding.

Bob Barr Rips Bush’s Nation Building

drwing writes: "The reason Americans don't like the direction of this country is because they continue to be spoon fed by the media in thinking Bush is a conservative."

The polls I saw, showed that Bush had the support of at least 90% of conservatives, as recently as 2006. There had NEVER been any conservative pushback against Bush for 2/3 of his Presidency.

It was only with the immigration bill of 2007 that conservatives finally broke with Bush decisively. They had gone along with him on just about everything else; check the voting records in Congress.

Now, just five months before the November election, is a little too late to suddenly "discover" that Bush is not a conservative. Conservatives had no problem with Bush for some 2/3 of his Presidency.

Vic
No they are not the same not even close. Quit pouting about not getting the candidate of your choice and really do a compare and contrast.

McCain was not my first choice, he was my last choice. That is democracy. You win some and you lose some. If you don't like how your choice came about get active then and change the way the primaries are done.

I can't wait to vote for McCain. I have even caved in and donated to his campaign. I want him elected. Then I am going to harass him daily just like he has harassed conservatives. I don't think his Mama ever taught him to be careful what you wish for.

Bob Munck
True, Bush labeled himself "compassionate conservative". Yet, since many conservatives like myself have declared the fallacy (if only in parts) of this label, the media keeps the assumption brewing. Being conservative is not the same as being Republican.

I gave up calling myself a Republican around 1997. I am a libertarian conservative, much like Ronald Reagan. I don't claim to know everything and have modified my views at times, but I will always remain conservative because that is true freedom, from government intervention and toward true prosperity. It is proven time and time again throughout our great national history. But it requires courage, politically, economically, and morally. As Reagan said at the 1976 Republican Convention, Republicans need "a banner of bold, unmistakable colors with no pastel shades." This is what America needs.

Let's see...Hm-m-m...
McAmnesty/Osamabama in one hand, anyone else in the other...hm-m-m. "Other" wins.

I refuse to AGAIN vote for the lesser evil[s], having done that for too, too many elections. This time I vote for "Other", and those enlightened "Don't-waste-your-vote" folks can go suck rocks.

When/If Amerika [sic] goes down the tubes it won't be my vote that did it.

Robert,

I have said for a long time that the GOP cannot begin to rebuild itself and rebuild its brand, until after Bush is out of office in January.

For the sake of party loyalty and party unity, conservatives have had to twist themselves into pretzels trying to rationalize and defend Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld policies which those conservatives themselves would never have dreamed of proposing, if they had been asked.

The few who have dared to question the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld orthodoxy, like McCain and Hagel and Gingrich and George Will (and yours truly), have been ostracized as traitors to the cause.

By 2010, the GOP will be able to propose ideas and policies without worrying whether they're consistent with Cheney's thinking.

Steve L
The question is what were the polls asking in support of Bush? Was it in general, or specific to the economy or the war? I have supported Bush on several issues and was appalled by others. His support of RINO Arlen Specter over a true conservative Pat Toomey is one huge example.

I will concede that I thought Bush would be more conservative. I was wrong and am man enough to admit it. Yet, our economy continues to be strong even with the falling dollar, and we haven't had another terrorist attack. Two excellent justices were appointed to the Supreme Court. Finally, he stayed alive so we wouldn't get stuck with Cheney, right?!

Great article Fred Thompson
Keeping America Prosperous & Free is exactly what the Republicans accomplish. If the liberals would quit listening to the lies of the MSM for a second they would realize that also.

America is an unique and wonderful place but, under Democrat leadership it would be molded more in the likes of Europe. Just look at what Congress has accomplished under Democrat rule since 2006, NOTHING.

for Robert, drWings
For years, the right-wing blogs adored Bush, to the point of not tolerating any criticism of him.

In 2006, I actually got banned from Little Green Footballs just for criticizing the Bush Administration. I wasn't being vulgar or offensive, I didn't use any foul language. I merely said that the war in Iraq was not going as well as Bush had hoped.

For that, I was promptly attacked, called every vicious name I cannot even reprint here--and the moderator removed my posting account so I couldn't post anymore.

There was no avenue within the conservative movement for conservatives, like me, to publicly dissent from the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld policies. Dissent was swiftly punished with ostracism. Personal loyalty to Bush was confused with loyalty to America, or loyalty to the war effort, or to the troops.

If Bush is "not a true conservative," that message was oddly missing from conservative publications and blogs from 2001-2006. It suddenly started surfacing only after Bush's approval rating started declining below 40%.

Obama brand of Marxism
Subject: What is the Obama Marxism?
Marxism in its simplest form is 'Class Warfare'.

What has Obama added to 'Marxism' + black racism.

Obama Marxism is a mixture of 'class warfare' and 'black separatism theology'.

Obama was not nominated for the Democratic candidate in 'spite' of his peculiar brand of Marxism but 'because' of his brand of Marxisim.

Marxists always divide people into groups and then pit those groups against each other.

Obama is the perfect Democrat leader pitting racists against each other - religions against each other - income classes against each other - genders against each other.

The Democrats now have the 'Perfect Obama Storm' to change America into collectivism.

EVERYONE: IGNORE "ROBERT!"

He's a total waste of time; will add NOTHING to, and distract from the discussion!

Wow, Robert
Hey dude, read the rest of my posts, especially the last one to Steve.

Yeah, I voted for him but please don't act like Gore or especially Kerry was a better choice! My point, which I should have been more elaborate on, is that the media is delighted to promote Bush as a conservative when he is in numerous ways not. Yes, the GOP put themselves in this situation by choosing McCain, making it the debate over conservatism between two individuals who for the most part are not.

Oh well, four years of Obama. Then he takes the beat down in 2012 by John Cornyn! It will be like 1984 all over again, an enormous defeat to the Dems! I can only pray now, that is why I need to be leaving for a bit. :)

RetiredGeek writes: "Obama Marxism is a mixture of 'class warfare' and 'black separatism theology'."

WRONG.

Black Liberation Theology was already strongly tinged with Marxism, just like Latin American Liberation Theology. Obama didn't have to "mix in" Marxism into it.

Check the writings of James Cone, its modern day pioneer. In fact, James Cone first became attracted to Latin American Liberation Theology. He took the Marxist component from there. Cone wrote:

"The black church cannot remain silent regarding socialism, because such silence will be interpreted by our Third World brothers and sisters as support for the capitalistic system, which exploits the poor all over this earth....
"We cannot continue to speak against racism without any reference to a radical change in the economic order. I do not think that racism can be eliminated as long as capitalism remains intact."

NEWSFLASH! George W. Bush is NOT running

for POTUS!

LET ME REPEAT THAT.. BUSH IS NOT RUNNING!!!

This election has to do with the survival of our country....See Retired Geek post @12:31PM
and the reprint of MyOpine's post @12:06PM

And, for all you Conservatives who think Barr is so great???? Think again!

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,71553,00.html
"...Ousted Rep. Bob Barr, R-Ga., is heading over to the American Civil Liberties Union to work on informational and data privacy issues, the organization announced Monday."

This is clearly THE election where who DOESN'T GET ELECTED is almost MORE INPORTANT than who IS elected.

Obama against Religious Right
"We need to take faith seriously not simply to block the religious right but to engage all persons of faith in the larger project of American renewal."
- Barack Obama; The Audacity of Hope; p. 216
================================================

"...engage all persons of faith..."

"The real questions are: Where is your identity? Where is your being? Does it lie with the oppressed blacks or with the white oppressors?"
- James H. Cone; Black Theology & Black Power; p. 152.

Hurray for President Bush !
For keeping America free and safe!

Can you just imagine the mess Algore would have made of America if he had won? For one thing, we'd be paying a carbon credit tax right about now. Also, we would have had Supreme Court Judges that molded their decisions after European law and not the Constitution.

To all of the $17 hr. paid socialist shills who have made comments, at least you memorized your liberal talking points well. The BDS has kicked in and you are totally and sufficiently brainwashed. (You can thank the MSM for your ignorance.) Too bad you are too blind to understand the beauty of a Free America.

for Robert
Robert asks: "when the GOP had the Congress
and the Presidency it did none of these...why?"

I think it goes back to the Florida recount of 2000.

Bush came into office with half the country--all the Dems--howling that "Bush stole the election" and demanding vengeance. The liberals went absolutely nuts after the Supreme Court stopped the FL recount and Al Gore conceded.

In the face of these savage attacks from liberals, conservatives circled the wagons around Bush protectively. They got used to coming to his defense reflexively against anything any critics said.

If Bush had won 2000 decisively, had a real honeymoon with the public, and gotten Dems to grudgingly go along for the moment, things might have turned out differently. When you win an election decisively as Reagan did, you can afford to be a gracious winner and even throw some bones to your defeated opponents. But Bush didn't have that luxury.

I agree with Anne
When are you oBAMA shills going to realize that BUSH IS NOT RUNNING FOR POTUS.

Liberals are Sheep!

THOSE of you who are displeased with

Bush's presidency, EXACTLY what do you think will happen IF (GOD forbid) B. Hussein Obama is elected.

Didn't like Bush's spending? You aint's seen nuthin' yet!

Obama would be Bush's spending to the 100000th power.

And that's just the beginning!

Want health care like they have in the UK.. or Canada? Well, you WON'T think it's such a good idea when the gov't has total control (and they will sooner or later) over your care... Not only WHAT treatment you MAY (not can) have, but IF YOU WILL be allowed to get treatment at all!

B. Hussein Obama's Marxist/Communist/Socialist vision for our country should make any thinking, intelligent, informed American vote to keep him OUT!
