This School District Provided a Middle School With Materials About ‘White Supremacy’

Parental rights organization Parents Defending Education has worked nonstop in recent years to expose school districts across the country for policies and curriculum meant to indoctrinate students. This ranges from curriculum on Critical Race Theory (CRT) to keeping parents in the dark about their children’s names and pronouns at school.

Documents obtained by Parents Defending Education (PDE) and shared exclusively with Townhall shows that Milton Public Schools in Massachusetts provided staff at one of the middle schools with lessons plans and other resources on “white supremacy.”

Milton Public Schools has a dedicated Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Department to push this agenda forward through the schools.

According to the documents obtained by PDE, on October 30, DEIB coach Adina Schecter drafted an email for district “equity leads” that assigned employees readings about “White Supremacy Culture” as part of a Restorative Justice lesson (via PDE):

The linked readings on White Supremacy come from Tema Okum’s “Dismantling Racism” work, and list “characteristics of white supremacy” such as “objectivity,” “sense of urgency,” “worship of the written word,” and “individualism” as “damaging” because “they promote white supremacy thinking.” Similar materials provided by the National Museum of African American History and Culture were removed from the museum’s site in 2020 following public outcry.

The lesson also included a graphic featuring these characteristics as “Poison,” exhorting the reader “Don’t Breathe It In.”

The following day, the DEIB team reportedly planned to send lesson plans to junior high students on “anti-bias” (via PDE):

The lesson guide – which was written by “Zakia Jarrett Education Consulting” – was recommended by Jarrett in her capacity as Interim Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging for the school district, which raises questions about conflict of interest and self-dealing.

In 2020, Jarrett – at the time an English teacher – was placed on administrative leave after telling a sixth grade class that “many cops are racist.” Jarrett was reinstated in the classroom following a backlash by the Milton Educators Association and district families.

"The materials provided in this middle school are radical in the extreme—imagine teaching that punctuality and objectivity are poisonous examples of white supremacy and thinking you're the good guy. This is another example of ideologues being paid to bring really bad ideas into a school district that are likely to destroy the place from within. None of this content is defensible or appropriate and taxpayers shouldn't be paying a dime for it,” Erika Sanzi, director of outreach for PDE told Townhall.

PDE has also uncovered how the “woke” agenda has been pushed in schools in the form of affinity groups and events. One example Townhall reported on was how a left-wing school board association got caught promoting race-based affinity groups for members. Another was a race-based affinity group for “Daughters of Africa” at a Kentucky school.
