Welp, Democrats Are For Open Borders

Watching the presidential debate Wednesday night, one would think the candidates were courting the votes of illegal aliens rather than the vote of the American citizen. And perhaps in the Democratic Party's ever inching leftist sprint towards socialism, illegal aliens will be able to vote in American elections one day should their party gain power. The first step for this, it seems, is to decriminalize entering the country without permission. In essence, the waterline for the Democratic Party on immigration is now open borders, the American citizen be damned.

At the time this tweet was sent, GOP chairwoman Ronna McDaniel accurately pointed out that each Democratic candidate on stage argued that it either should not be a federal violation or just a civil offense to illegally enter the country.

As National Review's Jack Crowe reports it was former secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Obama, Julian Castro, who pushed the candidates to the left to repeal " Section 1325 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, which makes it a federal offense to cross or attempt to cross the U.S. border “at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers.”

“The reason that they’re separating these little children from their families is they’re using section 1325 of that act,” Mr. Castro said. “if you truly want to change the system then we’ve got to repeal that section.”

After McDaniel's tweet, there were a few disagreements between the candidates, but all that really boiled down to was just how open the border really should be.

However, former Rep. Beto O'Rourke opposes the repeal of section 1325 because he says it would aid certain criminals. Sen. Amy Klobuchar also said she believes there needs to be some penalty for human sex traffickers, and there needs to regulations in place to deter that sort of criminal activity.

Nonetheless, Castro targeted former Rep. O'Rourke for his stance as evidence for how ill-prepared the former Texas Congressman is for the job.

"Some of us on this stage have called to end that section, to terminate it. Some, like Congressman O’Rourke, have not,” Castro said. “And I want to challenge all of the candidates to do that. It’s a mistake, Beto. It’s a mistake.”

With that challenge this morning, however, Democratic House Leader Nancy Pelosi answered the call. It seems she too thinks that illegal immigrants should be, well, considered just immigrants.

As Donald J. Trump's 2020 campaign deputy communications director Erin Perrine pointed out, this stance depletes American sovereignty.

So now, one Democratic debate into the primary with the second one scheduled for tonight, it seems that the Democrats are running in 2020 to end America's borders as we know it while Republicans want to protect American rule of law and the concept of our nation. Buckle up, this is going to be one intense ride.
