Comedian Michelle Wolf once again shared her far-left views with her audience, this time by equating abortion access to American Independence. The July 4th episodes of Wolf’s new Netflix show, “The Break with Michelle Wolf,” concluded with Wolf chanting “God Bless abortions and God Bless America!” Wolf then insinuated that men should not have a seat at the table for conversations about abortion, and even the fate of their own child, and encouraged women to ignore the male opinion:
“Women, don’t forget, you have the power to give life and men will try to control that...Don’t let them,” the comedian said.
Since President Trump’s election in 2016, the Left’s abortion narrative has become increasingly radical, and has ultimately abandoned the pro-choice ideology. The rhetoric surrounding abortion access is now deeply rooted in abortion positivity; far-left abortion groups no longer focus on the ‘safe, legal and rare,’ narrative, coined by former President Bill Clinton, but rather encourage abortion on demand on the dime of the American Taxpayer. Groups such as Planned Parenthood and NARAL’s abortion language goes as far as to even advocate for the repeal of the Hyde Amendment, which is a historically bipartisan amendment which protects taxpayers from funding abortions. Of course, the Hyde Amendment is an inconvenience to Planned Parenthood, as they are barred from using the 500 million dollars they receive from the federal government to their abortion quotas, although the ‘women’s health’ organization has never proven their adherence to the Hyde Amendment via their annual report.
This newly radical abortion rhetoric put forth by the left is not only unheard of, but also does not resonate with the majority of Americans. An annual Marist poll has 60 percent of Americans favoring a 20 week ban on abortions, which is the point at which unborn babies can feel pain, and among a majority of Americans who identify as ‘pro-choice.’ This policy has passed in 19 states. The same poll shows that 60 percent of overall respondents, 43 percent of Democrats and 40 percent of ‘pro-choice,’ respondents favor the Hyde Amendment. Most notably, 64 percent of those surveyed believe that abortion is wrong when considering a genetic disorder such as Down syndrome. Abortion based on uncontrollable circumstances, such as a child with Down syndrome, is something that Planned Parenthood and other abortion groups have all but endorsed. These poll numbers show that although, in some cases, the majority of Americans identify as ‘pro-choice,’ the abortion-on-demand ideology does not fit with the majority.

Michelle Wolf’s radical comments on abortion are not singular, and will not be the last from pro-abortion Democrats. This rhetoric is a coping mechanism for liberals amidst the Trump presidency, and the female-dominatedadministration’s supposed war on women and abortion access.
