Obama Is Immediately Responsive To Pelosi's Temper Tantrum

After House Speaker Nancy Pelosi launched a thinly-veiled barb in the President's direction Tuesday afternoon, the President quickly convened a meeting with her and the heads of four major Senate committees on Wednesday

A reporter had questioned Pelosi about Obama's campaign promise to open up Congressional debate to CSPAN cameras. After CSPAN challenged Congress yesterday to live up to that committment, and the administration was still non-committal, Pelosi was questioned about Obama's hypocrisy. Well, she said, "there were a number of things he was for on the campaign trail."

Pelosi's aids were reportedly quick to explain what she meant, in no uncertain terms: Pelosi is ticked that Obama is pushing the Senate health care plan, and not her House plan. In other words: she was throwing a temper tantrum.

Obama was immediately responsive, calling a meeting with her and the heads of Energy and Commerce, Ways and Means, Education and Labor, and Rules Committees later this afternoon. It's sure to be full of sweet-talking from Obama's end, maybe accompanied by a little massaging of the Speaker's neck.
