Kudlow on Phil Gramm ...

Larry Kudlow has some insight into Phil Gramm's resignation from the McCain campaign. 

Apparently, the Novak column which said McCain and Gramm had patched things up was accurate.  However, it threw several McCain staffers and advisers into a tizzy, with the ultimate consequence being Gramm's resignation. 

As Kudlow notes, Gramm's influence is sorely missed on the trail.  His absence seems to have removed the fiscal conservative moorings from the campaign, and as a result, McCain has apparently lapsed back into a more populist message. 

Kudlow goes on to say that if Gramm is truly out of the campaign, McCain ought to at least promote supply-siders like Jack Kemp or Steve Forbes ...
