Outside the DNC Meeting

The Democratic National Committee's meeting to determine whether or not Florida and Michigan delegates will be seated is predictably running far behind schedule.

Opening arguments were scheduled to end at 12pm, but did not close until after 3 pm. They took a lunch break and were supposed to reconvene at 4:15. Haven't resumed yet though. It is assumed negotiations are behind conducted behind closed doors away from the television cameras.

Throughout the day Hillary Clinton's supporters protested the meeting urging the DNC members to count all of Hillary's delegates from Michigan and Florida. I went up to see the ruckus and it was literally raining on Hillary's parade. Heavy, humid rains swept through leafy Woodley Park that afternoon soaking Hillary's supporters. Many of them left the "high visibility area" to take refuge in nearby hotels and restaurants. There were probably only 30 or 40 protesters (mostly older, white women) who withstood the rain and remained in the designated "high visibility" area in front of the Marriot Wardman Park Hotel.

Here are some photos I took. My apologies, I shrunk the first one too much. (And it was my favorite pic, too!) The woman's sign says "I switched to FOX."
