Private Health Clinics Booming In Canada

Molly Line of Fox News reports on the success of private, for-profit health care in Canada. All Canadian provinces had outlawed private clinics until 2005, when the Supreme Court ruled that making patients wait for lifesaving procedures in Quebec was illegal. Now, the private health care system is flourishing, thanks to the pressing desire of human beings to....end their own suffering as quickly as possible and / or prevent their own death.

The Canadian system is often held up as an example by President Obama when considering changes to the American system, but Fox points out that the Canadian system is undergoing a period of rapid change.
Provincial governments now face the difficult job of finding a balance in meeting the country's health care needs -- reducing wait times and maintaining fair access without redefining the universal ideals at the core of Canada's health care system.
