McKinnon Leaves McCain: Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish, I Say ...

The Fix reports Mark McKinnon is set to depart the McCain campaign:

Mark McKinnon, the lead media consultant for Sen. John McCain's (Ariz.) presidential bid, is stepping down from that role -- making good on a pledge he made last year not to work against Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) in the fall campaign.
It is not surprising that a former Democrat, brought into the fold by George W. Bush, would do something so squishy.  If he doesn't see Obama's Leftist ideology as something that needs to be defeated, I have to wonder about his loyalties in the first place.  Clearly, the man lacks any core classical liberal beliefs -- which begs the question -- why was he working for Bush and McCian to begin with?

- "I'll fight the Japanese, but not the North Koreans." - Patton

- "If the Patriots win the division, count me out." - Eli Manning
