White House Sets Deadlines, Fails to Meet Them

For those keeping track...

---The Obama administration was scheduled to report yesterday on spending cuts among federal agencies which Pres. Obama had asked for earlier this year.  No word yet from the White House.

---The White House is also holding off on releasing its mid-year budget reports, apparently because they recognize that spending has been atrocious.  Despite being congressionally mandated to report these numbers, the White House has *promised* instead to release updated budget and economic conditions this fall.  I'm not going to hold my breath.

---On Monday, President Obama also extended by six months a task force assigned to plan the closing of the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.  Six months since the president signed the order to close Gitmo, fewer than 20 of nearly 245 inmantes have been transferred out of Cuba.
