Draining the Swamp: RANGEL CONVICTED

BREAKING NEWS (per CNN):

Washington – A House ethics subcommittee found Rep. Charlie Rangel, D-New York, guilty Monday on multiple violations of House rules.

Shockingly, Rangel's dramatic trial walk-out stunt didn't pay dividends.  The case now moves to the full ethics committee, which will determine consequences for the 20-term New York Democrat.  Good riddance.

UPDATE: Rangel was convicted on 11 of 13 counts.

UPDATE II:  Wrist slap coming?

The full ethics committee will next conduct a hearing on the appropriate punishment for the former chairman of the Ways and Means Committee. The committee will then make a recommendation to the House.

Possible punishments include a House vote deploring Rangel's conduct, a fine and denial of privileges.
