Hillary Weighs In

It's lucky for Republicans that Hillary Clinton isn't the Democrat nominee.  In apparent contrast to the man who beat her in the primaries, she understands that in order to be credible as a national leader, one actually has to take a stand on the issues of the day.  Hence her Wall Street Journal op/ed today.

Make no mistake.  I'm not comfortable with her use of phrases like a "shared equity model" for "the American people" (the latter phrase a code word for "government").  It smacks of socialism.

But evenif her ideas are profoundly flawed (which they are), she does at least understand that when a crisis is at hand, leaders have to get out there and lead.  It's not enough to vote "present" -- or simply to keep campaigning and hope the crisis will go away because "it's above my pay grade."
