Did President Obama Check Out Our Conservative Book List?

In the July issue of Townhall Magazine, we provided our summer reading recommendations and compiled a list of our favorite books that every conservative should read. While it was difficult to narrow our selections down to just 25 picks, we felt that Aldous Huxley's Brave New World deserved an honorable mention for its depiction of an amoral, collectivized dystopia. And I can't help but wonder/hope... did President Obama take our advice?

VINEYARD HAVEN, Mass. — President Barack Obama began the first full day of his Martha's Vineyard vacation on Friday by dropping into a bookstore with daughters Malia and Sasha, emerging to shouts of "2012!" and "Four More Years." ...

After going upstairs and looking around the store, Obama was seen holding five or six books, including "Brave New World" and "The Bayou Trilogy." He went to the cashier after Malia and Sasha had picked out some books of their own, but disagreed with the $32 price he was quoted, which seemed low for the size of his stack. He paid by credit card, telling the cashiers that he uses it only about three times a year.

Even if one of the Obama girls just needed the book for a school assignment, I think it's great - the more people reading Huxley's tour de force, the better!
