Tawdry Scandal Could Cost Dems Ohio

As if John McCain's luck couldn't get any better, the Baltimore Sun's blog sees trouble for the Dems in Ohio.

Their political blog, The Swamp, reports a "sleazy" scandal involving Ohio's Democratic Attorney General, "could ripple through the November election with potentially disastrous consequences for the Democrats' national ticket ..."

Democrats in Ohio were elected in 2006 because of the perceived Republican ethical problems of former Governor Taft (including the now infamous "coin-gate" scandal).

This story has been around for months, but is now beginning to make national news.

The Buckeye state is often thought of as "the swing state," and it is often said, "as goes Ohio, so goes the nation."  The prospects that a major Democratic scandal in Ohio might have repercussions in the November presidential campaign is deserving of more attention.
