Green is the Stupidest Color

It's not easy being famous and trying desperately to reconcile your extravagant riches and your liberal guilt using nothing but reusable grocery bags and four or five hybrid cars. Being green can make you say the silliest things.

When times get tough, Julia Roberts turns to her highest high-- ahem-- compost:
"The highest high would be growing our food that I then make, and then composting and growing more — that kind of circle."
I feel ya, Jules. A big, steaming pile o' backyard necrotic leftovers has always rung my bell. To her credit, she names raising her children as at least in the same ballpark as-- ahem-- compost.

But seriously? Stop trying so hard. We know, from the same article in fact, that you have a ranch in Taos, N.M., an apartment in Manhattan, and you're building a third house-- totally green, of course!-- in Malibu.

I can't believe these guys have the nerve to brag about their greenness while they get all uppity on the rest of us for driving one SUV and daring not to adorn our one apartment with solar panels.
