Palin Is Their Gal

Before Palin's appearance, there's been a passionate prayer and the national anthem, and attendees couldn't be more excited. Families are here with children, and well-dressed couples talk excitedly about her 2012 presidential prospects.

The menu, much-publicized by now, is lobster and steak. Palin's book has adorned each table, and the convention room is completely packed, putting to rest any questions about the organizers being able to sell tickets.

The number of media is overwhelming. At least a dozen cameras from around the world are vying for limited space. The music that's playin in the background, 30 minutes before the event, sounds like something building up to a blockbuster movie. It's fitting.
