It's 1956 Hungary All Over Again

If there is a disgraceful episode in America's foreign policy history over the last century, certainly it is the Eisenhower administration's back-turning on the courageous Hungarians who sought freedom from the USSR back in 1956.

As Ralph Peters points out today, President Obama's handling of the Iranian electoral matter is of the same ilk.  Again, freedom-loving people are being thrown under the bus, and an American president has, in effect if not in intent, given the green light for a crackdown.
