"Manage expectations," Says Petraeus

Unfortunately, there is nowhere to go but.... nowhere, when it comes to peacemaking in Iraq and Afghanistan. Despite recent gains, General Petraeus doesn't think the year-out outlook in either country is particularly rosy, telling the Marine Corps Times that the United States should expect to stay right about where it is now in terms of curbing civil unrest and promoting democracy.

...significant work remains in improving the quality of the Afghan force through enhanced partnering, training and recruiting.

I hope President Obama is able to "manage expectations" and still find it in himself to stay the course...
