And that's a wrap. The WSJ has the story:
ALBANY—Legislation legalizing same-sex marriage was passed by the state Senate late Friday night.
On the floor of the Senate on Friday evening, Stephen Saland, a Republican from Poughkeepsie, said he would vote for gay marriage, saying the eleventh-hour religious exemptions added to the measure gave him enough confidence to support the measure...
The bill has already cleared the Democrat-led Assembly and has the enthusiastic backing of Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a first-term Democrat who has made gay marriage a priority during his first months in office.
The adoption of gay marriage would make New York the sixth and largest state in which gays and lesbians can legally marry. It would also mark the first time in the nation that a Republican-led chamber has voted to adopt gay marriage.
