Et Tu, California?

The Obama administration continues to grandstand about the Arizona law, with the head of ICE suggesting that the government might decline to process illegals referred to it from Arizona.

Setting aside the implications such activity would have for any federal official's oath to uphold the laws of the United States, one is forced to wonder whether the Obama administration would take the same stance regarding illegals referred from California.

That's because (wait for it!) California has a law on the books that's remarkably similar to the most controversial provision of Arizona's law -- the part about ascertaining immigration status when someone is detained for another reason.  It's section 834(b) of the California penal code

Is the Obama administration going to consider refusing to process illegals referred from California, too?
