Fatwa Issued Against U.S. Diplomats

According to The Middle East Media Research Institute, a “prominent Salafi-Jihadi Cleric” has issued a fatwa that not only sanctions the murder of Ambassador Chris Stevens but also calls for the killing of other U.S. diplomats:

Following the September 11, 2012 killing of U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens, a number of queries were sent in to the Salafi-jihadi website Minbar Al-Tawhid Wal-Jihad (MTJ) regarding the legitimacy of this action. Answering on behalf of the website's shari'a committee, Sheikh Abu Mundhir Al-Shinqiti issued a fatwa in which he approved of the killing of the U.S. ambassador and other U.S. diplomats, and refuted religious arguments raised by some Islamic scholars against such actions.

What does it mean to be ‘marked for death’ by Islamists? Just ask Dutch politician Geert Wilders who, because of his criticism of Islam, has received “so many death-threats of mostly jihadist origin […] that it is impossible for him to keep making separate reports in each case.”

Public Prosecutor Nicole Vogelenzang who handles these threats to politicians, says the increase was mainly caused by the special team which had to be set up to protect Wilders. He, together with now self-exiled Dutch MP Hirsi Ali needed special protection 24/7 after a Fatwa, an islamist order to kill them, was issued four years ago. This death-order was attached to the body of murdered Dutch cineast Theo van Gogh - slaughtered in broad daylight in Amsterdam by jihadist Mohammed Bouyeri - who attached the Fatwa announcement to Van Gogh's chest with a middle-eastern 'assassin's dagger'.

“My wife and I, for the last eight years haven’t had the most pleasant life when it comes to safety and security. We lived in prison cells, actually, in the same cell as one of the terrorist of the Lockerbie attack in Holland. In that prison cell we had to live for security reasons for half a year. We went to army barracks - I have not been able as an elected politician to walk freely on the streets without security for almost eight years.”

Rest assured, Obama’s number one priority “is always to keep our diplomats safe and to keep our embassies safe.”
