WHO's Got The Swine Flu?

Following up on Diane Medved's post on overreactions to swine flu, the head of the World Health Organization is now backpedaling from her dire warnings about the gravity of the infection. She is still insisting the worst may come later:
I’m not predicting the pandemic will blow up, but if I miss it and we don’t prepare, I fail. I’d rather over-prepare than not prepare.
This comes after Mexico's confirmation that only 19 out of 100 suspected swine flu deaths were actually caused by the virus.

I especially enjoyed today's headlines: Bloomberg leads with "Swine Flu Spreads to Most U.S. States as Cases Grow," and the LA Times reads "Swine flu threat appears to be easing, officials say." An hour ago, the AP claimed "UN says no plans for highest pandemic level yet," but two hours ago, it read "Spokesman: WHO may raise alert to highest level."
