Saying 'Good Riddance' to Fidel and Schooling Those Who Think His Riddance Less Than Good


Economist Brad DeLong said good-bye to Fidel Castro none-too-kindly yesterday.

"Good riddance" bred very bad comments, which in turn yielded great responses from Brad. Only one comment was embarrassingly silly enough to stump him:
Neal: Freedom and elections are fine sentiments for the comfortable--as long as you have enough to eat.
But who can blame him?

Click through to enjoy his product, thus producing a notable traffic increase which will incentivize yet more good writing from Brad for us to enjoy, so that everyone's happy in a warm, fuzzy, individualistic, capitalist sort of way. Just to make Fidel spin in his...err, retirement.

Please note Fidel did bring social reforms to Cuba – namely free education and universal health care, and racial integration. in addition to being criticized for oppressing human rights and freedom of speech.
